Overview

Colombo is a melting pot of culture – a city of sensory overload. With its sleek high – rise buildings and elegant colonial facades, Colombo exudes a unique character that is bound to fascinate the visitor. It is also the country’s main hub in trade, administration and social fabric. First, you will head towards the Beira Lake and visit the famed Gangaramaya Temple. Also, you will pay a quick visit to the Seema Malakaya on the Beira Lake. Next, you will visit the National Museum of Colombo, which is a treasure trove of history as it houses a multitude of historical artifacts that are utterly impossible to value, both intrinsically and historically. Afterwards, continue down Albert Crescent and catch a glimpse of the stately Independence Memorial Hall. You will enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at Upali’s before getting back on the road. Next, you will visit the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, which offers a great mix of relaxation, cuisine and retail therapy. As the sun begins to set, you will take a leisurely stroll along Galle Face.
