Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

Directly drive off to the north-west coast of the island Explore the pristine beaches and shimmering lagoons in Kalpitiya Boarded by the Puttalam lagoon on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other, Kalpitiya is a great destination with so much to explore. The entire landscape of the peninsula is dominated by coconut palms, glistering slalterns and giant windmills

Learn to kite-surf in Kalpitiya with a dedicated instructor to guide you through the waters and through the winds.

Day 3 - Travel to the cultural triangle and visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Marvel at the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya, a king’s palace built atop a massive rock, high in the sky. Considered as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. The rebellious King Kashyapa (477-495AD) reigned from this mighty rock fortress. You will climb up to the summit of the rock and witness ancient moats, ponds, walkways and ruins what once used to be regal gardens and courtyards. Also, you will walk through the corridors that lead to the famed frescoes wall adorned with intricate arts of the concubines of the palace.

Visit the ancient cave temple in Dambulla. Steeped in history, the cave temple is an awe inspiring sight. The life-like sculptures and stunning arts are a mirror image of the skill and dexterity of the craftsman. There are about 150 Buddha statues housed within five caves of the temple. Don’t forget to admire the scenic walkways around the temple.

The first kingdom of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura boasts ancient Buddhist temples, ruins of massive palaces and sprawling gardens. It is home to the most revered tree which is also the oldest historic tree in the world-the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi planted in 288BC. The sapling was taken off the Bodhi tree under which Buddha was enlightened. Ruwanweliseya stupa, the eight feet structure of Buddha-Samadhi statue, Aukana Buddha statute and Isurumuniya are some of the attractions in Anuradhapura. Cycle around Polonnaruwa and witness evocative ruins and religious sites Another ancient capital of Sri Lanka, Polonnaruwa is a maze of age-old artefacts including stupas, ruins of ancient structures and tombs. The intricate statute of King Parakramabahu is one of the key attractions in Polonnaruwa. Said to be the first stupa built in Sri Lanka, Thuparamaya also stands amidst the calm environs of the ancient city. Another important site is the Nissankalatha Mandapaya or King Nissankamalla’s Council Chamber, which is an ornate structure of traditional Sri Lankan architecture.

Your Colombo city tour will take you to some of the city’s important landmarks - National Museum of Colombo, Independence Memorial Hall, Galle Face Promenade and Dutch Hospital. Also, you will visit Pettah, which is a maze of streets buzzing with activity. Dotted with tiny boutiques, wholesale bazaars and remnants of the colonial era, the vibe of Pettah is exuberant. Walk through its narrow streets sandwiched between stores and rows and rows of bikes and tuk-tuks parked on either side of the road. From spices, to vegetables, to cooking utensils, to sarees and jewellery, you can find anything and everything in Pettah. The Red Mosque, old market, old town hall and old Kayman's Gate Bell Tower are the colonial giants that stand in silence.

Day 7 - Departure

You will leave for the Airport (Bandaranaike International Airport), Depending on the Departure Time or continue with one of our Tour Packages, or continue with your own itinerary for rest of your stay in Sri Lanka

1. Please use the “Inquiry” form to send us your details including number of travelers, arriving date & Contact details such as Email, Viber or WhatsApp numbers. Upon verifying the details, we will send you further information along with the payment details

2. Rates vary depending on the time of the year and the number of people travelling. Get in touch with us at sales@visit2srilanka.com, if you’re interested in this particular itinerary or after a customized tour package

3. Note - The starting point of the tour is Colombo. However, if you want us to pick you up from a different location, we can arrange it at an extra cost.

4. Hotel check in time: 14.00 hours and Hotel check out time: 11.00 hours.

5. Dress Code : Casual, Comfortable clothing and need to wear appropriately when visiting Religious Sites 6. ‘No Show’ will not be entitled to any refunds.

7. Payments: In order to confirm your tour package, 10% deposit of the full payment is required upon confirmation. Balance 90% should be paid 24 hours prior to departure of the tour Or at the time of pick up from the Colombo Air Port for those who commence the Tour upon arrival in Sri Lanka. 8. Our Cancellation/refund Policy: 90 days or more before departure -We will retain 10% of Deposit 89 to 64 days before departure -We will retain 25% of Deposit 63 to 43 days before departure -We will retain 50% of Deposit 42 to 31 days before departure -We will retain 75% of Deposit Within 30 days of departure -We will retain 100% of Deposit 9 .Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is not included in your tour price. It is your responsibility to verify whether your local health/travel insurance carrier provides coverage while traveling. We strongly encourage and advise you to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover all aspects of your tour including the loss of deposits through cancellation, loss of baggage and personal items, personal injury and death. A waiver must be signed if insurance is declined.
